Tasting Room Manager 

We’re looking for a wine-lover who will increase sales and promote brand loyalty by expanding our Wine Club offerings, engaging with the community, and building relationships. This new team member should be energetic and self-starting, have excellent written and oral communication skills, deliver superb customer service, and come prepared to join a team ready to grow! Ours is a friendly, supportive and fun work environment with lots of opportunities for growth and new ideas. 
 

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Regular hours at the Tasting Room; welcoming guests, offering wine tastings and sharing knowledge of our products  
  • Develop and implement Wine Club member offerings, events and outreach 
  • Oversee regular Wine Club fulfillment and associated events 
  • Submit and track wine awards and press 
  • Participate in local and regional tastings, events and community activities 
  • Maintain inventory at Tasting Room and arrange for restocking as needed 
  • Maintain daily sales records and deliver weekly deposit to bank  
  • Accurately use POS system (Shopify) and Wine Club software (Bloom) to place and fulfill orders, manage customer records, and run sales reports 
  • Assist in retail merchandising 
  • Scheduling Tasting Room employee shifts and submit hours for payroll 
  • Track daily visits and sales 
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment at the Tasting Room 
  • Contribute to Social Media content across various platforms 
  • Assist with Direct-to-Consumer licensing compliance by state 
  • Assist in building relationships within the community to promote Mendocino County wines 

Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge, appreciation and passion for wine (better still if it’s for our wine!) 
  • At least 3 years experience in the wine industry, specifically with Wine Clubs, Tasting Rooms and Direct to Consumer wine sales 
  • Must have innate skills in customer service and satisfaction 
  • Must have experience with DTC state licensing - or the ability to learn quickly 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and POS system (Shopify, Bloom) - or the ability to learn quickly 
  • Must be able to multitask effectively and manage daily operations and long-term projects 
  • Must be a team player and a self-starter 
  • Must be willing to work primarily at the Hopland Tasting Room, but also at the Farm in Potter Valley and at other events, as needed 
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • High school diploma required, college degree preferred 

Benefits

This position will earn an annual base salary of $35,000-$45,000 (based on experience and qualifications), plus bonuses based on commission. We offer two weeks of paid vacation per year (accrual begins after the first 3 months) plus most major holidays. We are an equal opportunity employer. 
 


 

Part-Time Tasting Room Associate 

We want our Tasting Room to be a place where people feel welcome to come and sit a while with a glass of wine or quickly stop in for a bottle. The Associate’s job is to make everyone who walks through the door feel welcome and to share their knowledge of our products with our customers. This person should have hospitality in their veins and should love hosting wine tastings. They should contribute to a warm and welcoming environment while building relationships and making sales. 

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Work regular shifts at our Tasting Room in Hopland; welcoming guests, offering wine tastings and sharing knowledge of our products 
  • Accurately use POS system (Shopify) and Wine Club software (Bloom) to place and fulfill orders and manage customer records 
  • Assist with Wine Club fulfillment and associated events 
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment at the Tasting Room 
  • Maintain accurate inventory at Tasting Room 
  • Assist in building relationships within the community to promote Mendocino County wines

Holiday Help at the Farm

We’re looking to add a new member to the team in Potter Valley in anticipation of our busy Holiday season ahead. This person should be able to jump in and help where needed with a variety of tasks throughout the day. They should be great at multi-tasking, able to stay focused under time constraints, and have superb organizational skills. 

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Prepare orders for fulfilment using our ShipStation account 
  • Answer phones and take orders or solve customer issues 
  • Answer customer questions through online chat portal 
  • Maintain organized shipping schedule and keep track of many orders at once 
  • Print and/or write gift cards 
  • Other tasks as needed 

Qualifications 

  • Must be proficient with computers and have ability to learn quickly 
  • Must be able to multitask effectively 
  • Must have innate skills in customer service and satisfaction 
  • Must be a team player and a self-starter 

Benefits & Schedule 

This position will earn an hourly rate of $14 per hour. This position will primarily be Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm, with some flexibility for variance depending on your schedule. Part-time training will begin in late October, with work running through November and Dec
