For best results…

Immediately remove from shipping box and give a quick shake to fluff up the leaves. 
All bay products are made to order, shipped fresh and should be opened immediately. Leaving the bay in its shipping box will damage it.
Hang indoors - out of direct sunlight, away from excess heat and moisture.
Keep out of freezing temperatures.
You can lightly spray with water to keep fresh for longer, but don’t mist repeatedly.

To use your bay in the kitchen…

In about 10-14 days the leaves will dry and turn a lighter green color and become more brittle. That is when they are great to cook with! Just pull off a leaf and use it right away. Or you can pull several, let them air dry and then store in a sealed jar. They’ll be good for about a year.
**Please note that bay is toxic to animals if consumed.
If your bay product has chilis, those are not organic, but they are edible.

    Thank you for the fresh and beautiful swag of bay leaves and chilis. It smells delicious. We've already used a few of the leaves and the swag still looks full and gorgeous.

    The bay leaf swag with chilies is the perfect size. Arrives fresh and fragrant. I love having the bay leaf fragrance in my kitchen during the holidays. Once the leaves have dried, I save them for adding to soups and sauces throughout the year. I also enjoy supporting the McFadden farm. This is the third year I have ordered bay leaf products from them and have been very happy with the quality.

    Bay Leaf swag

    This is the second purchase through McFadden farms.
    I usually purchase 2 item one for my mother and then myself.
    Our first year we ordered the bay leaf wreath, but it was so generously full we were unable to use all of the leaves that year.
    So I downsized and purchased a bay leaf swag with chilis for both of us. Fresh bay leaves all year and you don’t feel guilty throwing away the old bay leaves.
    This will be perfect for the winter soup season & the weekly Italian sauces we cook.
